hip has increased significantly during the past decade. It has now
become an established technique for the treatment of many intra-
and extra-articular conditions affecting the hip. However, it has

Osteotomy (BIPO). In this prospective study, we report the mid- to long-term clinical

We conducted a systematic review of MEDLINE and the CEA Registry to identify CEAs that were conducted on or after 1 January 1997, that studied a procedure pertaining to the field of hand and upper extremity surgery, that were clinical studies, and that reported outcomes in terms of quality-adjusted life-years. confer increased stability, but there are concerns about the unique
complications associated with these designs, as well as the long-term

The routine use of dual-mobility (DM) acetabular components in total hip arthroplasty (THA) may not be cost-effective, but an increasing number of patients undergoing THA have a coexisting spinal disorder, which increases the risk of postoperative instability, and these patients may benefit from DM articulations. clinical relevance of increased facet joint distraction as a result
of anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) for trauma. A total of 155 patients (130 men, 25 women. Mean age 42.7 years;

The purpose of this study was to compare two different types
of metal-on-metal (MoM) bearing for total hip arthroplasty (THA):
one with a large femoral head (38 mm to 52 mm) and the other with
a conventional femoral head (28 mm or 32 mm). We compared clinical
outcome, blood metal ion levels, and the incidence of pseudotumour in
the two groups. Between December 2009 and December 2011, 62 patients underwent
MoM THA with a large femoral head (Magnum group) and 57 patients

It is important to consider sagittal pelvic rotation when introducing
the acetabular component at total hip arthroplasty (THA). The purpose
of this study was to identify patients who are at risk of unfavourable
pelvic mobility, which could result in poor outcomes after THA. A consecutive series of 4042 patients undergoing THA had lateral
functional radiographs and a low-dose CT scan to measure supine
pelvic tilt, pelvic incidence, standing pelvic tilt, flexed-seated
pelvic tilt, standing lumbar lordotic angle, flexed-seated lumbar
lordotic angle, and lumbar flexion. Changes in pelvic tilt from
supine-to-standing positions and supine-to-flexed-seated positions
were determined. A change in pelvic tilt of 13° between positions was
deemed unfavourable as it alters functional anteversion by 10° and
effectively places the acetabular component outside the safe zone

The purpose of this study was to evaluate patients undergoing revision
total hip arthroplasty (THA) with the use of TM augments for reconstruction
of Paprosky IIIA and IIIB defects. A retrospective study was conducted at four centres between August
2008 and January 2015. Patients treated with TM augments and TM
shell for a Paprosky grade IIIA or IIIB defect, in the absence of
pelvic discontinuity, and who underwent revision hip arthroplasty
with the use of TM augments were included in the study. A total
of 41 patients with minimum follow-up of two years were included
